Merlin predicts Arthur’s fate / future and reminds him to take good care of that scabbard. A damesell of the Lady of the Lake shows up at court. The ladies are ambassadors to the Lady of the Lake (they act sort of like mall Santa’s in this story as being representatives of the Lady of the Lake).

097:

Merlins telly Pellynore that the lady (whose head he is wearing) was actually his daughter! He is told you MUST help everyone in need. The Pentecostal Oath (feast on the day the church was established) is enacted as a way to establish order in the kingdom, it’s Arthur’s “Constitution”. THis is an oath bound society. We also see the consequences of reckless sexuality in this society.

096:

The knights continue plotting and remind each other to beware of Merlin who knows “all thynges by the devylles craffte.” Pellynore and Nynive on their way back come upon the original knight and lady he didn’t stop to help: they’ve been eaten by wild animals. She tells him to bear the lady’s head back to Arthur.

095:

The lady falls off her horse and breaks her arm. They stop for the night. Two knights pass an he overhears them plotting to do some villainy with poison at Arthur’s court.

094:

Pellynore shows mercy to the remaining knight. The lady they were fighting over is Nynive (she’s the lady enchantress who will defeat Merlin later).

093:

Pellynore goes to two knights who are fighting. It’s a family dispute. Both knights fight Pellynore (they kill his horse first to keep on on the ground with them). Pellynore kills on of the knights.

092:

Torre was Pellynore’s son, by the way. Pellynore heads out on his adventure, comes upon a lady crying over her injured knight, but he doesn’t stop to help them. The knight dies. Pellynore runs into a farmer who tells him the story of the knight he didn’t help.

091:

Torre beheads the knight even though he did (finally) be for mercy. Merlin defends Torre’s action to Arthur when he returns to court and tells of his adventures.

090:

Torre defeats this knight, too but the knight won’t yield. A damesell rides up and demands that knight’s (Abelleus) head because he had killed her brother. The knight now asks Torre for mercy.
