I like his musing on death, in how it is not so terrifying to someone as they go through it, but that a person can’t be trivial about life, either. He condemns the young suicide and extols the old gardener. He finds life and happiness in life, in the company of others. Beautiful.

I love how he has a child’s imagination and can see mountains as monsters, as a trolly ride ad a rite of passage, and a star as a place to land his airplane. I feel like I’m 9 years old again, but also with the sensibility of an adult. So beautiful.
